The purpose of this article is to let you, the reader, know that there is a God based on what's written in the Bible. I am well-aware that many readers will attack and/or ridicule me, mocking what the Bible has to say, which is fine with me. This blog, as well as upcoming ones, is not designed for popularity purposes.
Let's continue. I will not cover what is taught by evolutionists, archeologists and other sorts of scientists. However, I will provide two verses, which CLEARLY state that there is a God who created the heaven and the earth. One verse talks about the earth being round and the other about it being in space.
Long before man wondered if the world was really a sphere, God had commanded a major prophet named Isaiah to write His words concerning this during the reigns of the following kings of Judah:
Uzziah (AKA Azariah 789 - 737), Jotham (737 - 721), Ahaz (730 - 715), and Hezekiah (715 - 686)
This language is found in Isaiah 40:22, where it states "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:". I'm assuming God wrote about the earth being circle anywhere from 789 - 686 BC.
Sure there are verses in the Bible that make it seem like the earth is flat. For example, God mentions "four corners" in Revelation 7 verse 1: "And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree." Those who want to discredit the Bible will look for verses like this to accuse creationists to hold the belief of a flat-earth. What they don't understand is, God spoke in parables throughout the Bible. In this particular verse, He is talking about the 4 directions (north, south, east and west) that tie in with the Great Tribulation, in which we are experiencing now. We won't go into this right now but my point here is, non-creationists do not give the Bible any credit, especially when it comes to the origination of the earth's existence.
Improperly, historians credited the Greeks as the originators of a spheric earth (as early as Pythagoras in the 6th century B.C.). But the Old Testament writings concerning the earth being round came roughly a hundred years before the Greeks claimed this belief. Historians, scientists, and other "professionals" usually don't use the Bible as an accurate source of truth when studying topics like the age of the earth. The reason for this? Mankind wants his own credit. In other words, we, by nature, love to come up with our own conclusions based on our own findings. It is because of our intelligence that we figure things out. We want the recognition that because of our own doings, we have discovered whatever's in view. God warns about man's pride in the Bible numerous times.
The second proof that God exists is found in Job 26:7, where it says "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing." Thousands of years later, scientists and astronomers learned about gravitational pull in space. Before then, God was already telling us the earth as being in space ("empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing"). Obviously, man (in this case, Job) did not have the technology we have now, in which we learn about space. This verse simply proves God created this world and the universe.
OK, right now, you're probably wondering "What is this author's point?"
Here's my answer:
This ancient collection of ancient writings known as the Bible will never get consideration when it comes to learning about our existence. "Professionals" and people who refuse to believe there is a God will hold on to non-Biblical teachings, making God a fictional character. This idea is mentioned throughout the Bible in places like:
Psalm 14:1 - The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
So before man learned about the earth and space, God already wrote about them in the Bible. Folks, there is a God...the only true and living God. He has many names such as Jehova and Jesus Christ. In the end, He is the only true God.
I've also written about God's salvation plan, which should be the most important information we'll ever read about. May God bless you.
